free sewing pattern

As promised, I wanted to share the tutorial for making the watermelon coin purse. I don’t know which fruity coin purse I like more, the lemon slice or the watermelon. All I know is that they are adorable, easy to make, and super inexpensive at less than $4 each to make!

Fruity Purse

I love the little black watermelon seeds on the front of the purse. The method for making this bag is pretty much the exact same as the lemon purse as far as making the bag goes. You’ll need craft felt in pink, green, and black, and you’ll also need a 7 inch zipper in a coordinating color. I chose pink because I love the pink against the green!

To get started, you’ll need to print out the pattern at the end of this post. Then you’ll cut these pieces out.

  • A- cut 2 out of green
  • B- cut one out of pink
  • C- cut one out of green
  • F- cut out of black (you can cut out as many seeds as you would like)

Don’t worry about cutting out D or E since they are for the lemon coin purse. Start by gluing the seeds to the pink. Then, you can use fabric glue to attach the pink piece to the green piece, or you can sew it on. I think if I were to do it again, I would just use the fabric glue instead of taking the time to sew it. Now, just follow the instructions for making the rest of the bag on the lemon coin purse post.
