It’s time to start part one of the Summer Fun Series that I am doing with Jesseca from One Sweet Appetite!  Today, we thought it would be fun to show you the perfect parade outfits for kids!  With a couple of little added things, we took ordinary outfits and turned them into something that is darling.  Let me show you what I mean.

For Lillie’s outfit, I purchased a plain white shirt and a denim skirt as well as the fun red boots from Old Navy. (aren’t they the cutest ever?!?)  And for Addie’s outfit, I also bought the dress and shoes at Old Navy.

I will be showing you how I used iron-on vinyl for Lillie’s outfit to make it even more cute then before.  I had never used iron on material before, but now that I have I wonder what took me so stinkin long?!?  It is so easy and fun to use.  I began by using my cricut craft room to design a necklace and a bow for the outfit.  The circles don’t need to be exactly the way that you want them, but I tried to make it close so that I could visualize it better.  Once you have it cut out, you will be placing the circles on the shirt exactly where you want them to go, so you have full control of it.  I bought the glitter iron on from Hobby Lobby back in the section where they have shirts and shoes and other iron on material.  They have lots of different colors too!  The cost was $10.99 for a pack of four glitter sheets, but I used my 40% off coupon and it helped out a ton.

Once you have it all cut out, you will follow the directions on the packaging.  Put the vinyl on the shirt, place a thin cloth over the top, and then press your iron on the cloth for about 20-30 seconds to make sure that there is a good connection.  I decided to make a cute sparkly necklace for the shirt, and bows on the back pockets of the denim skirt were just too cute to pass up.  The best part about these outfits is that even though they are perfect for a parade, they are simple enough to wear any time of the year.

Now of course the only logical thing to do is to put Lillie in this darling outfit and take photos!

I let her help me  put all of the vinyl on her clothes so she was so proud of the way it all turned out.  I especially love the bows on her back pockets.  They are so cute!  Now you need to go over to Jesseca’s blog to see how she made Dax’s cute shirt.  The kids had a lot of fun taking pictures together in our “parade.”  Look how cute they are!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for another fun tutorial!
