The idea for this shirt design originally came to me last year, but it was so close to Halloween that I decided to wait until this year to make it. Carter has always been a very oral baby, putting everything into his mouth. I thought it would be funny to make a Halloween shirt for him that said “I bite” and it turned out even better than I had hoped for.

Making this shirt is simple. All you need is a shirt, iron on vinyl, and either a Silhouette or Cricut machine to cut out the vinyl with. I am sure that you could probably cut this out with an xacto knife or scissors, but it would take a lot longer. I went with a baseball style shirt that I found on Amazon. (You can get two for $8 and free prime shipping.) The vinyl is simple easy weed black iron-on.

I designed it using a pre-made bat shape that I found in the silhouette store, and then I used the Maleficent font to add the “I bit” text. Once it was just like I wanted it to be, I cut it out of the vinyl.

It’s so easy to iron it onto the shirt. Make sure that your iron isn’t putting out any steam while you are ironing, and then make sure that all of the edges are sealed. I like to use the edge of the iron all along the edge to really seal it down.

That’s all it takes to make a super cute Halloween shirt! I love the way it turned out, and he loves it too. When Carter wears it, he runs around growling at people with his “pooky” shirt.
