Dream big free printable

I’ve always wanted to be a mother. When I was pregnant with my first child, I hoped and hoped that I would have a girl, and was so excited when we found out that was exactly what we were having! Of course, as soon as I knew what we were having, I started planning and dreaming about what the future might hold for our beautiful little girl. I always knew I wanted to raise strong, independent children that go do amazing things in their life. I want them to be leaders and fill their life with things that they love and excel at.

Going back to my daughter, Lillie, I had ideas of things I wanted her to become and try, but it turns out that raising independent children also means that they have different ideas. I enrolled her in dancing classes like all the other little girls, and she liked it, but she didn’t love it. We threw different ideas around, and we decided to give horse lessons a try instead. She went to her first lesson at 5 years old (the age they had to be to start lessons) and was nervous about how it would turn out, but excited at the same time. When she came out of the first lesson, she was hooked, but we also learned that she was allergic to the horses. I questioned if we should continue with the lessons, but the look on her face as she told me about riding the horses for the first time just made me realize that we had to find a way to make it work.

To make lessons work, Lillie had to be sure to take allergy medication before every lesson, but it was a small price to pay for the love that she was forming with riding the horses. Lillie soon began talking about the future that she saw for herself, and it included competing in rodeos doing barrel racing. I will admit, when I first heard it, I thought, “really?” But then I decided, “why not!” and have encouraged her dreams. I have no idea if it will happen, but for now, it is important to her which makes it important to me.

Dream Big printable

I tell you all of this because I wanted you to know the importance of the words “Dream Big” being displayed in my daughter’s bedroom. That it actually means to let your imagination, passion, and creativity drive you to be whatever you want to become. I created a printable to display on their wall to remind both of my girls that they can be anything. You can download a copy for your own little girl’s room with the links at the end of this post. It is available in four different colors!

I try to give my children good role models in their life, and being children, they love the Disney Princesses. I am so glad that there are Princesses that can teach them so much good. My girls’ current favorites are particularly Merida, Mulan, and Pocahontas. These are Princesses that had dreams of their own, stood up for what they believed in, and ultimately became great leaders. I got these three Disney Princess Royal Shimmer Dolls for my girls and love seeing them play make believe with them. These weren’t the only ones available to purchase. All 12 princesses can be purchased at all Toys “R’ Us locations and they all have beautiful shimmery ombre dresses.

Just look for the “Dream Big” endcap. That’s where you will find all of the fun princess dolls!

While we were at it, we also got a few other toys too. The Sing & Shimmer Princess Ariel doll was a perfect pick for my second daughter. She loves that she can sing along with her. Plus, the Little Kingdom Ariel’s Sea Castle was just too cute not to get. I love that you can get multiple sets and they all have pieces that can be intermixed. We also loved the little Belle from the Disney Princess Petite doll line that is also available at Toys “R” Us.

The main reason behind this post is that I love the new message that Disney is portraying with their princesses. They are reminding girls to continually follow their dreams. That is a message that I can stand behind and fully support. You can read more about it over on the Disney website.
