Skeleton kids craft idea 2

This is such a fun skeleton kid’s craft project to get you in the Halloween spirit! Your kids will have a blast putting the “bones” together. Let’s get right to it because I am sure you probably have everything that you need to get started on this today!

Supplies needed:

  • q-tips
  • Elmer’s Glue
  • Black construction paper
  • White colored pencil or crayon

The best place to start is with the body. Put it in the middle of the page, high enough that the legs will fit, but low enough that the head and arms are going to be able to fit as well. There is no exact science to it, just eyeball it. You’ll need four q-tips for the ribs, and one for the spine. The best way to put it in place so that it will stay is to use the Elmer’s glue and put a straight line across where the q-tip will go. Put the q-tip in place and then move on to the next one. My daughter and I worked together on this part. I would glue and then she would place them on the glue.

You’ll need some q-tip ends without the stick in the middle for the fingers, and some shortened q-tips for the arms and legs. You can use a normal pair of scissors to cut them off, and then glue them onto the paper.

Once all of the bones are in place, creative license kicks in. Let the kids make the head however they want it to be! My daughter wanted a spooky head, and that is exactly what she got. Once she had the white part drawn on, she used a black marker to create the black eyes, nose, and mouth.

We had so much fun working on this one together, and I think your kids will love it too. Addie and I worked on this while Lillie was at school, and as soon as she got home from school, she was DYING to make one of her own because she thought it looked like fun. We will definitely be working on that this week.
