Candy corn kids craft tutorial

This next kid’s craft idea was another home run with my daughter. The prep took about 10 minutes, and then she was able to complete the entire thing all by herself! You should definitely put this candy corn kid’s craft on your to-do list for today!

Here’s what you need in order to get started:

  • Construction paper (orange and yellow)
  • White tissue paper (I used this so that it had a different texture than the white paper that the candy corn was printed on)
  • Elmer’s glue stick
  • Candy corn printable

To prep for this craft, you’ll need to start by cutting thin strips of card stock, and then cutting them into small squares. Place the squares in separate piles based on color and then you’re ready to get started.

Have your kids cut out the candy corn shape from the printable (that is provided at the end of this post) and then glue the candy corn onto a piece of construction paper. I liked using yellow or orange for this part, but any color will be great!

Once the candy corn is glued onto the paper, hand the kids a glue stick and they can start gluing the squares onto the paper. I had real candy corn there for my daughter to look at (and eat) so that she could see the order of the colors. It was a great lesson about colors and matching! I really like using the purple disappearing glue sticks for this so that it makes it easier for my daughter to know where the glue is and where she will be able to put the squares so that they will stick.
