To some, this picture may not mean a lot.  But to me, it means the world.  I have felt like I have been holding my breath for the past 6 weeks just waiting for news whether good or bad.  6 weeks ago, I found out I was pregnant.  Because of my last pregnancy ending in miscarriage, we wanted to be proactive about this pregnancy and my Dr. had me get my blood tested the day after I found out I was pregnant.  The levels came back very low.  My progesterone should have been 20 and it was only 7.  My HCG should have been well over 3000 and it was only 17.  I began to hold my breath.  I couldn’t handle another miscarriage.

the best day ever

I started taking progesterone every night and had to continue getting my blood drawn to monitor my HCG levels to make sure they were rising.  Each test came back better then the last, but I was still holding my breath.  It could go south and it could happen quickly.

At 8.5 weeks, I went in for an ultrasound because my levels were finally high enough that they thought we would be able to hear a heartbeat.  The baby was measuring small, but we heard a heartbeat!  I was still overly cautious, and my due date was moved back a week and a half making me only 7 weeks along.

Thursday, when I was 9 weeks 4 days pregnant, I went back in to have another ultrasound and now I feel like I can finally breathe.  The baby is growing.  The heartbeat is strong!  Everything is looking so good.  I am still taking the progesterone every night to make sure that the baby keeps growing strong, but we are feeling more and more confident that things will be ok.

I found out about a fun campaign from Elevate Promo that talked about the “Best Day Ever” and knew that I wanted to participate.  When I initially heard about it, I was still unsure about the future of my baby.  Life was tough, but I knew that if I could hear that heartbeat and see that baby growing and strong that I would consider that day one of the best days ever.  Now, with the photo of that heartbeat in hand, I can definitely say it was the “Best Day Ever.”

As part of the campaign, we thought it would be fun if one of YOU were able to have a Best Day Ever shirt as well!  These shirts are not available for purchase, they are only for this campaign.  I should mention that I picked a size larger then I normally choose and was glad that I did.  They are incredibly soft and well made.  It has easily become my favorite t-shirt.  If you would like to win, all you need to do is fill out the Rafflecopter form below.  The giveaway will run until Friday April 11, and the winner will be selected and displayed on the Rafflecopter form on Saturday April 12.  Good Luck!
