My craft room is one of those places that I never really feel like is “finished”.  I always am finding new ideas that I want to implement into it, or it just isn’t organized enough etc etc etc.  I seem to have an excuse for every time that I think I should just show you the whole thing.  I would love to just show you everything today, but then the post would be about a mile long, so I am going to show it to you in little increments.  Today, I will show you how my daughters have a place to call their own in my craft room.  It is their own Kid’s Crafting Station!

My girls love to do projects.  Seriously.  They will sit and color pictures, cut paper, stick stickers, build houses, and paint every minute of every day if I would allow them to.  I enjoy allowing them to be creative which is why I decided they needed their own space and their own supplies.

The little table is a thrift store find that works perfectly with the IKEA stools (that I love!) for the girls.  Normally there are two stools by the table, but the girls were using the other stool while I was taking pictures and I decided as long as they were happy, one stool would do. 🙂  The paper roll and holder on top of the table is also from IKEA and has really been handy.  It is really easy to grab a piece of paper off the roll for the girls and get those imaginations flowing.

Lillie (my oldest) really loves to cut paper, but it can’t always be the boring old plain paper.  She wanted patterned paper to do her projects with.  I keep her supplied with a couple of sheets at her table so that she can use it until it runs out.  If you noticed that there aren’t any writing utensils on the desk, you are very perceptive.  I will tell you why there aren’t.  The girls love to color, and I used to keep a crayon box on the table.  Then I started finding artwork on my walls and doors courtesy of my youngest (Addilyn) and decided that if they wanted to color, I would get the crayons down and then put them away when they are done.

Above the desk, I have a basket full of stickers, washi tape, scissors (out of Addie’s reach), and ribbon. (I have a fun project that Lillie has been working on that I can’t wait to show you that has turned out so well!  It does my crafty mommy heart good.)  The basket is hanging on an old crib spring thing.  I painted it pink and hung it, and it has worked as a PERFECT bulletin board in my craft room.  I really love having some of my favorite photos of my girls hung there where I can see them.  For those of you reading this that went to high school with me and played in the band, did you notice the clock?  It is totally the same clock that hung in the band room all those years ago.  Literally.  My sister got it for me with permission from the new director after we graduated.

Anyway, there is another peek into my craft room.  I really enjoy having this little space to share with my girls something that I love doing, and cultivating their imaginations and creativity at the same time.
